The E-Rickshaw Programme, implemented by the Indian Institute of Youth Welfare (IIYW) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partnerships, is a pioneering effort to promote green mobility while creating sustainable livelihoods for marginalized groups — especially women, youth, and underprivileged families.

This program provides battery-operated e-rickshaws to selected beneficiaries after comprehensive training, enabling them to earn a dignified livelihood while contributing to a cleaner environment. The initiative not only addresses unemployment but also supports India’s mission of eco-friendly and inclusive transportation.

Objectives

  • To provide self-employment opportunities to economically weaker individuals

  • To reduce carbon emissions and dependency on fossil fuels in urban and semi-urban areas

Key Features of the Program
