HEALTH/SANITATION PROJECTS
The Project "Total Sanitation and Water Supply at Chandrapur" has been supported by BMZ and DIZ-Germany, District Collectorate and Forest department as well as Gram Panchayat. It is a co- venture of IIYW with German Government and Indian Government. Around 200 households have been provided with shallow sewer lines-disposal system for wastewater and drinking water is supplied to every household through underground water lines thus, minimising the burden of women fetching water from long distance. The waterwater is conveyed properly to a final disposal point. Women & children are the brand ambassadors of the water/sanitation programme. Awareness and education on health/hygiene/sanitation of all target groups was the main focus along with sensitization of user groups. IIYW has a vast experience in implementing Community Based Sanitation Programmes and DEWATS (Decentralised Wastewater Treatment Systems).
